Not possible with DVI. Try using the VGA adapter.
I don't give a shit.

What monitor? It probably doesn't go up to 85Hz.
I don't give a shit.

U can't compare TFT's and CRT's and their Hz.. they simply don't work in the same way...
unlock vsync, then cl_maxfps 85 or what your desired value is.
Usually TFTs likes to play around 75 "Hz" when using the display settings in windows.

People like v-sync on. Less tearing of the picture.
I don't give a shit.

I play with v-sync... on a regular CRT tho... (since when do I need more than 102fps?
)

don't know what kind of settings or whatever you have, but when i have v-sync enabled, the reaction from my mouse feels very sluggish, kind of like when you try to speedjump with cl_predict 0

This is in linux, which means that it could very well work in a totally different way than in windows, maybe not the vsync itself, but the sideeffects (maybe windows has something else locked to the fps?) I don't really remember if I played with vsync or not in windows, but what I do know is that it's MUCH more enjoyable with vsync (or sync to vblanc as nvidia-settings calls it) in linux..
