"Standard clients are not allowed..." HELP

Hi,

I used to play aq2 several years ago and have recently extracted my backup of the 'quake2' directory. It mostly works fine but on some servers i get the following message when trying to connect:

"Standard clients are not allowed, please use another client.."

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Could download a new client.

It's a pitty there are serveradmins who think they're on steroids. Actually, they're only paranoid. Well.. I don't like serveradmins who enforce clients - it has no use and I like things which have use. Funny enough I still support aq2 (is there any use?!).

Whatever, this didn't help you. Sorry.

Tell the serveradmin to change the client enforcement. And yes, download a new client too. the original q2 client is outdated.
