What I like is that the guy is checking permissions. I know the Q2E retexture project threw a fit when someone used their textures in an AQ2 client.

But... I mean, why? What's the point of making the textures and making them available via the web IF YOU DON'T WANT ANYONE TO USE THEM.

The Q2E people are idiots. Or that Odium guy was. I just didn't get it. They didn't have (at the time) any notice about reuse of textures. Apparently they wanted people to contact the texture artists directly, individually, IF you could find contact info.

I mean, what is the POINT of consolidating all the work into one project if there's no single point of contact.

For instance, people use RQ3 stuff, that's not good since RQ3 is designed to be a game, not a texture resource. This Q2E retexture project's entire reason for existance is TO BE A RETEXTURE RESOURCE. Then they are like, no, you can't use the textures.

The hell is up with that?

Sorry, don't mind me. Just ranting.
