News about NoCheat

Finally some info about the nocheat project:

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I've got a job working at my university for a professor developing a "Platform for Learning" for teaching Computer Science. I also have a girlfriend. Combine these things and I come up with not much time for other things. Even when I do have time, I just don't really.. feel like it. I sit infront of a computer for 8 hours for my job and the computer isn't something I want to be around a lot in my free time. So what's this mean for you? It means I don't know when the next release will be done. And even when the final is out, NoCheat is done with the feature upgrades. Any changes will be strictly hack protection.

This is how bryce would write a letter to the quake2-ppl:

Dear Quake2-Scene,

your wait was long and my time was short. But now, here are some news for you - so you finally get to know something - before you die a dumbs death.

The news is: There won't be any new features for you in the future. NoCheat will, as every big company does at the moment, focus on its core capabilities. Anti Cheating.

Who wants features anyways? Cheating countermeasures work long enough so the scene can rely on it. Battling cheaters is such a good ideal - and since I have that much time, I am the right person to fight against the cheats and hacks, which appear one week right after I released a new version. Right?

I hope you feel good about this, since in a point of view of a legit player, nothing will change in the future at all. Just like the last half year. Stagnation at its best.

I'd rather have new features than an anticheat system that's hacked within a week tbh.. :P

yeah, not many bothers cheating atm anyways I think (or our admins are working hard as hell, cant tell

) And nocheat gets hacked within a few weeks anyways, no reason to stick to it if it's not updated every two weeks then.

I'd rather have nice features too

Well, bryce said the opposite.. since he said like:
