Nations cup, optional set-ups?

Post by Da^JuaN »

We're currently busy with planning the nations cup, and first of all 1 i want to what would be the best set up for this league?

It will be a european nations cup, since it will have too much trouble with organizing this with other nations, pointing at ping, servers, timezones etc.

There has been a topic about it before, i know. But there are more people at this forum, so more ideas i hope.

Ill put down some options below:

Option #1:

2 groups of 4 nations; the numbers 1 go to the semi-finals and they both play vs the winner of a game between the number 2 of group A vs the number 3 of group B and visa versa.

Option #2:

2 groups of 4 nations; the first 2 of each group go to the playoffs.

Option #3:

1 group of 8 nations; the first 4 nations continue

Option #4:

1 group of 8 nations; the number one reaches the final and play vs the winner of a game between the number 2 and 3

Option #5:

1 group of 8 nations; all go on to the playoffs, and then it will be number 1 v 8, 2v7, 3v6 and 4v5.

Option #6:

2 groups of 4 nations; same as above, all go on to the playoffs, then number 1 v 4, 2v3 and visa versa

Option #7:

Some other options, not mentioned above. Please desribe your option then.

Let me know what you think is the best option.

I doubt the "1 group of 8 nations" will work for a nations cup. I also played in the EuroAQ league arranged by BarrysWorld, but countries losing the first 3 / 4 matches didn't bother playing the remaining matches anymore. It might be strange, but almost everyone find their own clan more important then the country they are playing for :?

I voted for option 6; all the countries will enter the playoffs and everyone will have a chance winning it after the group stage.

I think the best option would just give the 1st prize to Finland, and you can fight over the rest.

As long as there are no loser-brackets it's fine with me, no offense. Option 6 sounds fine.

Well I voted for 1st one. The weakest country from each group is out, while all the others have chances for winning title
